"Why We Do What We Do"

When I created The Dirty White Tee, It was a joke between myself and a friend. I never took it as “this is a business Idea”. That same night, I woke up from my sleep and it was 3am. I went downstairs with my computer to not wake up my wife. I started creating. I had no clue where this was going. I’ll stop right here for a minute.

My Dad is my Hero. On 4.05.2024, we lost my dad after his fight with cancer. He was the patriarch of our Family. I would help him get ready for appointments or to try and get him out the house. He had lots of set backs and dizzy spells. He would always say “You don’t know what it's like”. I didn’t know.

I was diagnosed with stage 4 Colon Cancer. Not fun. Surprised. Taken aback and stunned. Not fun. So now I know, I have all the same symptoms. I wish this on no one, What I do wish is that everyone has access to their treatments and meds. I have been "Out of Pocket" for treatment since I started. I have racked up over 100k in medical bills 😆.

Funny I truly didn't start living until I found out I was dying. My mission became clear and my purpose was revealed. How could I be passionate about something I truly hadn't experienced? Here I am fighting a battle of which my current insurance did not cover. Another blow, to keeping a job, keeping bills paid and all the fun things that come with adulting. I found in order to get any assistance you had to be almost 200% below the poverty level to get help. Well we all know, even in today's society a decent salary is still hard to manage with the rapidly rising costs it takes to keep a household intact.

This is why Dirty White Tee is on a mission to assist those who are in need of treatment and may be having  a hard time affording it due to the wide range of reasons. Period.

Here to kick cancer's ass, one dirty tee at a time.
